How does the treatment work?
The American laser Smoothbeam CANDELA first warms up the deep layers of the skin and subsequently swiftly cools them. The laser beams have the capacity to reduce the function of the sebaceous glands. It is exactly the function of those glands that causes breakouts and inflammation. You don’t have to be afraid of pain and the effects of the treatment are long term. The laser also improves the overall appearance of oily and rough skin. It helps to smooth out small scars as well since it promotes the formation of the connective fibers, which softens the surface of the skin.
How does the therapy look like?
The procedures are done every 3 to 4 weeks. The laser can treat acne on the back, face and sometimes also on the neck. The most common place for the appearance of breakouts is chin, forehead and the area around the nose but it is not uncommon to find acne spots also on the scalp. The anaesthetic cream is applied on the treated area 30 minutes prior to the procedure, which is, therefore, more comfortable and less painful for the client. The procedure itself takes about 20 minutes. There might be some redness on the skin after the treatment but it should disappear in one or two days. The patient needs to protect their skin from the sun for several days after the procedure.
For maximized effect we combine the treatment with the popular chemical peeling or bio stimulation laser.
