What is microneedling used for?
Microneedling is a treatment that makes use of a disposable microneedle head that penetrates perpendicularly into the deeper layers of the skin and creates microtraumas in the treated areas. The skin is thus stimulated to produce collagen and to create new skin cells. Healing is further promoted by active nourishing substances contained in serums that penetrate into the necessary layers of the skin thanks to the tiny channels created. At Esthé Laser Clinic we perform the procedure in the areas of the face, neck and décolletage.
Microneedling is recommended for the treatment of the following skin concerns:
How to prepare for the treatment?
Before treatment, you will first have a consultation with a specialist who will explain the course of the procedure, find out possible contraindications and instruct you on the recommended behaviour in the following days.
The procedure itself does not require any special preparation. The client can come to the clinic wearing make-up, but it must be removed before applying the anaesthetic cream.
How does the procedure look like?
At the first stage of the procedure, the doctor numbs the treated area with an anaesthetic cream. The effect usually occurs within 30 minutes. After the skin is numbed and during the entire procedure, active serums are applied that support the metabolism of the skin and participate in the healing and rejuvenation process. At our clinic, we use two types of serums, according to the result we want to achieve. More about the active ingredients.
Next comes the microneedling itself. The device includes a disposable head with fine needles that vertically penetrate the skin at a depth of 0.25 mm to 2.5 mm. The needles create micro-punctures that stimulate the production of collagen and elastin.
In addition to activating the self-renewing abilities of the skin, micro-needles create very tiny channels that quickly and efficiently absorb the previously applied serum.
The whole treatment takes approximately thirty minutes, depending on the extent of the treated area. Microneedling is tolerated very well by clients thanks to the anaesthetic cream, nevertheless the client may feel some slight blunt pressure during the procedure.
What device do we use?
At Esthé Laser Clinic, we perform the treatment using German equipment of the highest quality. Specifically, this is the Amiea Med Revive MN device. Amiea Med has the first cartridge system that offers the client absolute safety as far as sterile conditions are concerned.

What to expect after a microneedling treatment?
After microneedling, the skin may appear red and irritated. It can be warm or slightly swollen as if after a prolonged stay in the sun. Calming down occurs by the next day. During this time, we recommend applying only non-irritating moisturizers to the skin. Make-up can be used only after the skin is at least partially healed which usually happens 48 hours after the treatment.
When is the procedure unsuitable?
Microneedling is a fast procedure that does not require a long convalescence, nor is it significantly painful. This highly effective method may, however, be unsuitable for some people. We do not recommend the treatment if you suffer from acute inflammation of the skin, active acne, or take anticoagulant blood thinners (e.g. Warfarin).
